I am very happy with how this turned out. The initial idea behind this illustration was not to be done in markers, but I wanted to do a marker version of it as well. I just couldn't help but fall in love with the idea of a rainbow of colors raining down on this grey, yet happy, girl. Speaking of the girl, I really like how she turned out. Especially since I only used 5 shades of grey on her. :3

Here is a list of all the colors I used. (All of the markers used are Copics)

Paper: Plain White Cardstock
Lineart: Done with Copic Multiliners (Clouds were done with a blue Prismacolor Color Multiliner)
Girl: C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, 0, 100
Clouds: B000, B00
Rain: RV29, YR07, YR04, Y17, Y04, YG03, G05, BG18, B06, V17, V09
White gel pen used for highlights
Photoshop used to enhance colors.

The technique put into this piece of art is astounding. With the grays, you managed to grasp the fundamental aspect of coloring with markers. The shading has no room for perfection, seeing as it's perfect already.

However, I feel as if you are trying to merge two forms of art together, though it's beautiful, it seems a bit awkward. The colored rain and clouds seem to have a different style of art altogether compared to the style you used for the girl. She looks too three dimensional for the two dimensional rain/clouds.

Something I'm a tad picky about, if the rain hit the umbrella, why is the exposed dress and hair not colored?

Still, you managed to take the two and put them together very nicely. Just about everyone has tried to do a "black and white" meets color" thing. Most of the time, they look trashy, or unfinished. You combined them in a very artistic way. Well done.
